e-Ticket Templates
e-Ticket Templates are available in either Email or SMS formats that you can edit and customise. They include a QR code that users present upon arrival at the event. e-Tickets are sent to people registered for an in-person event. The message includes a link directing the recipient to the e-Ticket page.
Here’s an example of how an e-Ticket would appear on a mobile device:
Create e-Ticket Templates
To set up e-Ticket Templates, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Event Configuration > Templates in the left navigation
- Select the e-Ticket tab
- Click on New e-Ticket
- Give your e-Ticket a name
- Use the editing tool to add content to your e-Ticket
- For example, details about the event’s date and time
- A QR code containing a link to the attendee's information will automatically be generated and added when sent
- Complete the details for Apple Wallet Pass. For additional information see the article: e-Tickets and Apple Wallet.
- Use the preview buttons at the top to view your e-Ticket
- Click Save to create the new e-Ticket
Tip:
When naming your e-Ticket Templates, use meaningful names that include the event name and target audience. For example:
- BUSINESS_SUMMIT_19_E-TICKET_DELEGATES
- BUSINESS_SUMMIT_19_E-TICKET_STAFF
Archive e-Ticket Templates
To archive a Template after an event or when it’s no longer needed, press the Archive button on the right side of the record. To view and restore archived Templates, toggle the Show Archived option.
Add Google Maps link to an e-Ticket
If you want to include a Google Maps link to the event venue in your e-Ticket, follow these steps:
Note: Avoid copying the Google Maps URL from your browser, as it may contain directions or other parameters specific to you that only apply to your location. You want the link to be general for all attendees.
1. Open Google Maps on your computer
2. Search for the Event Venue
3. Click on the Menu in the top left corner
4. Select Share or embed map. If you don't see this option, click the Link to this map.
5. Copy and paste the link wherever you want to share the map.
To ensure the link is correct, open the copied link in an incognito browser. You should see the event venue pinned, not directions to the venue.
You can then add the URL to the body content of the e-Ticket. A user with the Google Maps app installed on their device will be directed to the app for navigation. If they do not have the app, the link will open in their browser.
