Badgeless Check-in in Jomablue CX
Badgeless check-in lets you check attendees into your event without a printed badge or label. It happens automatically in Jomablue CX whenever the device you're using doesn't have a printer paired to it, and works on any iPhone or iPad running Jomablue CX, independent of whichever printers or badge stock the rest of your event uses.
When to Use Badgeless Check-In
Use Badgeless check-in as your event's primary check-in method when you've decided in advance that attendees won't receive a physical badge or label. This is common for small meetings, dinners, or events where a printed credential isn't needed.
You can also use it as an alternative when your primary method (Smart Badge, Name Label, or Name Badge) is temporarily unavailable, such as during a printer outage or when you run out of stock.
Note: Badgeless check-in is only available in Jomablue CX. It is not available on Smart Badge or Omnia.
Before You Decide to Use Badgeless Check-In
If Badgeless is your planned check-in method, confirm before the event whether you need Session check-in, Lead Capture, or Touchpoints. If your event relies on any of these features, printed credentials are required.
Also let attendees know ahead of time that they'll be checked in as Badgeless, without a badge or lanyard. Most attendees expect one at check-in, especially at anything resembling a conference. Set this expectation in your e-Ticket email, registration confirmation, or on-site signage.
Note: If you're switching to Badgeless as a temporary alternative, attendees checked in this way stay Badgeless for the rest of the event, even after your printers are back up, unless you print one for them separately by selecting their record and tapping Print Badge (see Print or reprint a badge below). If your event uses Session check-in, Lead Capture, or Touchpoints, those attendees won't be able to use these features.
How Badgeless Check-In Works
Badgeless check-in isn't a setting you turn on. It happens automatically whenever the device you're using doesn't have a printer paired to it. There's nothing to enable in the cog menu or anywhere else in the app — to run a device as Badgeless, simply don't pair a printer to it.
Check People In
The button on a Person's record displays Check In. If a printer is paired to your device, tapping Check In also prints their badge or label. If no printer is paired, tapping Check In checks them in as Badgeless, with nothing printed.

Handling a Burst of Latecomers
For a short burst of stragglers during an outage, it's usually faster to log in and download the event on one device first, then hand that device between staff one at a time, rather than setting up each device individually.
Notes:
A Badgeless check-in still counts as a badge print in Jomablue's reporting and insights. Your check-in numbers reflect it the same way a printed badge would.
Badgeless check-in only requires the Jomablue CX app. Staff do not need Capture App, a separate app for vendor lead capture that cannot check attendees into an event.
FAQ
Can I run my whole event on Badgeless check-in from the start?
Yes. Simply don't pair a printer to your check-in devices, and use them as your standard check-in method throughout the event. If your event uses Session check-in, Lead Capture, or Touchpoints, confirm those aren't needed for your attendees first, since none of these features are available without a physical badge or label.
Can I use Badgeless check-in if my event's main check-in method is Smart Badge?
Yes. Badgeless check-in through Jomablue CX works independently of your event's primary check-in method, so it can act as an alternative even if your main method is Smart Badge or another printed format.
Do I need to turn off Badgeless check-in to print badges again?
Just pair a printer to the device. There's no setting to turn off — Badgeless simply stops happening once a printer is connected. You can also print a badge or label at any time for anyone already checked in as Badgeless; see Print or reprint a badge above.
Will attendees checked in this way appear differently in my reports?
No. They appear the same as any other checked-in attendee, and the check-in still counts as a badge print for reporting purposes.
