Unsubscribe Button in Email Campaigns
The unsubscribe button is a mandatory component of all email campaigns sent through the Jomablue platform. It ensures compliance with email communication regulations and gives recipients full control over whether they continue to receive emails from Jomablue.
How the Unsubscribe Link Works
All emails sent from Jomablue include an Unsubscribe link in the email footer. This link cannot be removed, as it is required for compliance purposes.
When a recipient clicks the unsubscribe link, they are taken to a confirmation page managed by Jomablue’s external email service provider. Once confirmed, the unsubscribe action is applied immediately.
Scope of Unsubscribe
Unsubscribing from a Jomablue email applies globally.
When a recipient unsubscribes:
- They have opted out of all future email communications sent from Jomablue
- The unsubscribe applies to all events, not just the event or campaign that triggered the email
- The behaviour is instance-wide and system-wide
This means unsubscribing from one event email will stop all future emails from Jomablue, regardless of the event, campaign type, or organiser.
Impact on Future Email Communications
Once a person has unsubscribed:
- They will not receive any further emails sent from the Jomablue platform
- This includes campaign emails, transactional emails, and event-related notifications
- Re-importing the person, adding them to a new list, or having them register again will not restore email delivery
Email delivery will remain suppressed until the person actively resubscribes themselves.
Tracking and Visibility of Unsubscribes
Unsubscribe management is handled by an external email service provider used by Jomablue.
As a result:
- Unsubscribed contacts are not visibly flagged within Jomablue
- Event organisers and admins cannot see who has unsubscribed
- There is no indication on a person record showing unsubscribe status, including for contacts added via import
The platform automatically suppresses emails to unsubscribed contacts without exposing unsubscribe data in the UI.
Notes:
- There is no unsubscribe reporting available at the campaign or individual level
- There is no unsubscribe history or audit log accessible within Jomablue
- Internal teams and event organisers cannot determine when or how a person unsubscribed
Resubscribing Contacts
It is not legal to manually resubscribe a person without their explicit consent.
This means:
- Organisers and admins cannot re-enable email delivery
- Contacts cannot be manually added back to email lists for the purpose of restoring emails
- Re-importing a contact does not override their unsubscribe status
How a Contact Can Resubscribe
A contact can only resubscribe by:
- Clicking the Unsubscribe link in a previously received email
- Selecting the Resubscribe option presented on the unsubscribe page
There are no other preference management options available. Contacts cannot manage event-specific or email-type preferences.
