Tax Configuration

Jomablue supports the configuration of no tax, single tax or multiple taxes applied (e.g., state and federal taxes). The most common setup is a single tax applied to both Admissions for your event and Items sold during the event.

Note: Once you start selling Products, you cannot change the tax configuration

What can I Apply Tax to?

Tax can be applied to the Admission costs of the event and Items sold at the event (e.g., T-Shirts, Gala Dinner Tickets. etc).

How is Tax Calculated?

Tax is automatically calculated for the line items when a person checks out on the Site. For this to occur, Jomablue requires the tax amount (represented as a decimal) to be set. It is important to note that any prices entered into Jomablue should always exclude tax and be rounded to 4 decimal places. This ensures accurate tax calculations with minimal rounding errors.

Add Tax to an Event

  1. Navigate to Registration > Configuration > Taxes
  2. Select New Tax
  3. You can either enter the details of a new tax or copy it from another event

Once a tax is added to the event, you can proceed to create Admissions and select the Tax created.

Examples of Adding Tax:

Adding Australia’s GST of 10%

Adding Singapore's GST of 7%:

What is an Adjustment Fee Tax?

When cancelling a product, item or an entire order with the intention of issuing a refund, you have the option to charge a fee (called an adjustment fee). This fee is generally considered a cancellation  fee, administration fee or other related adjustment fee.

The amount of this fee is at your discretion and may be subject to your event’s terms and conditions. We recommend covering at least the credit card transaction costs, even if you plan to refund the full amount.

The adjustment fee charged may be subject to tax. If so, you can select the tax you wish to apply under Adjustment Fee Taxes and press Save.

The tax will then be automatically added to the fee you charge when cancelling a Product, Item or entire Order. Both the inclusive and exclusive tax amounts will be displayed.
