A Block is a configurable content element that is displayed on a Canvas. The content can include images, text, videos, or interactive features such as Live Chat, Q&A, Polls, etc. Multiple Blocks can be added to a Canvas. When creating a new Block, you can select its type, which determines what kind of content will displayed. For additional information, please see the article: Canvases.
Features of a Block
- Some of the Blocks are highly customisable and can be configured based on their type
- Once the Block type is selected, it’s recommended to name the Block for easy identification alongside other Blocks on the Canvas. Be sure to follow a standard naming practice, as the Block name will be visible in reporting as well.
- Once a Block type is selected, you can now switch to activate it, configure its settings, and add automation
- The width of a Block is determined by the Flex it is attached to
Each Block will automatically resize based on its Flex and the width of the browser window - A Block can be made active or inactive. An active block is visible on the Canvas, while an inactive block is not visible
- While each block type has specific configurable options, some common ones are the Block’s name, title, and visibility start and end times
- The same Block ID can be used across multiple Canvases for third-party tools such as Slido and PigeonHole
- The same Block ID cannot be used for Jomablue Blocks such as Live Reactions and Quick Surveys, except the Live Chat Block, which allows the same Live Chat ID to be used across multiple live chats, replicating the same chat feed
- In the Block's advanced configuration, "class": "grow" is automatically added in the Display Options. Blocks within a Flex with this option enabled will grow equally to fill the available space. If this option is removed, the Block will not grow to fill the space.
