The Jomablue platform supports Event Survey functionality that can be customised to suit your needs. Jomablue Surveys are dynamic and tailored to reflect each attendee's journey at an event. Each attendee can receive a Survey containing general questions as well as questions about the sessions they attended.

Key features and abilities include:

  • Common questions applicable to the entire event
  • Survey questions based on sessions that each attendee checked in to
  • Various response types such as free text, select, multi-select, range, and star rating
  • The ability to create multiple Surveys for an event (e.g., one for Exhibitors and another for Delegates) and send them to specific Categories of People.Easy follow-up reminders for those who have not yet completed the Survey

Customisation options include:

  • Custom colour (must contrast with a white background)
  • Custom footer text (can include an optional link to terms and conditions)
  • Custom success message displayed upon completion of the Survey.

Default customisation settings can be found in the Survey Defaults section below.

Notes:

  • Surveys are sent to attendees via email or SMS as a unique URL and each Survey can only be submitted once per user. If a user attempts to reload the link or access the Survey a second time, they will see the message: "You have already completed this Survey".
  • Once a Survey has been submitted, the responses can’t be modified or it cannot be undone by either the User or Administrator.
  • Currently, we do not support branching questions in Surveys; while they can be dynamic based on Sessions attended, they cannot vary based on responses within the Survey itself.

Survey Defaults

When creating or editing a Survey, it can be customised. If no customisations are applied, the following defaults will apply: 

Colour
By default, the Survey uses Blue (hex colour #176BCC). Here is an example of the default blue in the header.



Footer Text

The default message is, "Please ensure that your answers are complete, as you will be only able to submit this Survey once. Thank you for your time!"

Success Message

The default message reads, "Thank you. Your feedback is greatly appreciated"



Close Time

By default, the Survey is available indefinitely, with no closing time.

Survey Features and Considerations

Features Overview:

  • Create multiple Surveys for each event if desired (e.g., One for Exhibitors and another for Delegates)
    Utilise various response types including free text, select, multi-select, range, radio, and star rating
  • Designate required questions that must be answered before submission. These are compulsory questions and the Survey cannot be submitted without answering them.
  • Quickly create Surveys using pre-defined, common answers
  • Target attendees based on the Sessions they attended for a more personalised experience
  • Send Surveys via SMS and Email immediately or schedule them in advance
  • Send Surveys to Categories of people
  • Easily follow up with reminders for incomplete Surveys
  • Customise the Survey Title, Description and footer text
  • Customise the thank-you message displayed upon Survey submission
  • View Survey results in real-time
  • Sessions are presented in chronological order, including the location name and session start/end times
  • Export raw data as as a CSV file
  • Rearrange questions within a group by using a click-and-drag function

Considerations

  • The Survey structure is static; while questions can be reordered, question groups can't be rearranged.
  • Session Surveys will always be displayed as the last section of the Survey
  • Session-related questions will display the Room name along with the start and end date/time, formatted in 24-hour time.
  • Session-related questions are presented in chronological order
  • Attendees must present their Jomablue Smart Badge upon entering the room to qualify for being Surveyed for that session
  • Once a Survey has received responses, questions or any part of a Survey can’t be deleted
  • Currently, there are no opportunities for branding or image placement

Recommendations:

  • Send an SMS Survey immediately following the event
  • Follow up with attendees who have not yet responded, 1-2 business days later
  • Keep the Survey as concise as possible; shorter Surveys have a lower abandonment rate. Remember that results are only captured once the “Submit” button at the bottom is clicked.
  • Maintain consistency in your Survey questions across different events to streamline feedback collection
  • Use selections or radios wherever possible. Free text and multi-select can be difficult to draw conclusions.

Export Survey Results

Survey result data is available instantly through the Survey export feature. To obtain the CSV report, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Surveys in the left-hand menu
  2. Select Export for the corresponding survey

Note:

  • Generating the report may take some time, depending on the number of responses and questions included.

What is contained in the Survey export?

The following fields are available in the Survey export:

  • Organization UID (You system identifier, e.g., LeadorContactID)
  • QR UID (use this to combine this report with other reports as a lookup value)
  • NFC UID (their badge ID)
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Job Title
  • Company
  • Mobile
  • Email
  • Submission Time
  • A column for each question

Survey FAQs

Q: When should we send the Event Survey?

A: We recommend sending the Survey to attendees as soon as possible after the event concludes. You may also follow up via email 1-2 business days later for those who haven't responded yet.

Q: How can we send the Event Survey?

A: In Jomablue, you can schedule campaigns to send the Survey via SMS or Email at any time. The SMS or email will include a unique link for each delegate.

Q: Who will receive the Survey?

A: The Survey will only be sent to people who were checked into the event and meet the criteria set for the campaign. Session-based questions are dynamic, so attendees must have checked into the specific session to receive those Survey questions.

Q: I'm running a competition, can I include the Terms and Conditions?

A: Yes, you can include a link to your Terms and Conditions in the Survey footer

Q: Once a person submits the Survey, what do they see?

A: The message they see upon submission of each Survey is customisable. We recommend thanking participants and providing a link to your website or other relevant event content. HTML links are supported in the success message. 

Q: Can I change the colour of the Survey?

A: Yes, you can customise the colour of the Survey, but please ensure it contrasts well with white since all fonts are white

Q: Can I include a logo on the Survey?

A: No, the Survey is designed to load efficiently for attendees and to capture their feedback as easily as possible. Therefore, logos or images are not supported.

Q: How long does it take to process the results?

A: The raw data is available immediately inside Jomablue. 

Q: Can you identify who answered specific questions?

A: Yes, results are linked to specific respondents.

Q: Do users need to sign in?

A: No, there is no sign-in page or app to download. It's a one-tap solution designed to gather feedback with minimal friction

Q: How many times can a user submit the Survey?

A: Only once. If they attempt to access the link again, they will receive a message stating: "Survey already completed".

Q: Is it OK to ask more than 20 questions?

Technically yes, but statistically, you will achieve a higher response and completion rate if you limit the number of questions to fewer than 20. Results are only captured once they click submit at the bottom of the page.

Q: Do we need Jomablue Community to use Survey?

A: No, Jomablue Community is not required to use the Survey. 

Q: Can we customise the Email/SMS communication about the Survey?

A: Yes, the content of the Email or SMS can be configured under the "Templates” section.

Q: Does the Survey work on both desktop and mobile devices?

A: Yes, the Survey is designed to work on any device with a modern browser.

Q: Can I make certain questions or parts of questions Bold?

A: Custom styling within questions or question groups is not supported.

Q: Can I reorder an entire question Group?

A: No, question groups appear in the order they were added to the Survey.

Q: Can I preview the Survey?

A: Yes, there is a preview button available. This link is public (no sign-in required), allowing you to share it with non-Jomablue users. 

Q: Can I use Survey Sessions if using Jomablue CX?

A: Custom session questions can't be used with Jomablue CX. However, general event Surveys can still be used based on event check-ins using Jomablue CX.
